Treevolution is a trio of 21-foot trees made of recycled municipal water pipe and PVC. The branches
are arranged in a helix and festooned with bright orange construction fencing. Standing starkly
artificial and toy-like in a natural environment, the cheerful trees bear an ominous message: amidst
wanton growth and development we run a great risk of destroying vital natural greenspace and
may someday be stuck with only fakery. The use of building materials is not coincidental, as
I personally strive to reimagine and reinvent in my art and my life.
